Daniel Katzman, a lawyer at Scharfstein LLP with a focus on Civil Litigation and Condominium Law. Daniel has been on the Board of the North Saskatchewan Canadian Condominium Institute and Education Committee since 2021. Daniel will bring his legal expertise to the table, helping you navigate the complexities of by-law enforcement with confidence.

Our second presenter: 

Taylor Wilcox of McKercher LLP is an associate lawyer in the Saskatoon office with a general practice in civil litigation, construction law, condominium law and foreclosure matters.  Taylor also has experience in residential real estate, cannabis law and corporate commercial law.  Taylor has appeared at various levels of court, including the Provincial Court of Saskatchewan, King’s Bench of Saskatchewan, and the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal. He has also appeared before numerous administrative tribunals and quasi-judicial bodies.

Enforcing bylaws in condominiums is essential for maintaining order and ensuring a harmonious living environment.

We will be introduced to the legal framework of enforcement, including the Act, by-laws, and rules; dangerous conditions and nuisances; statutory provisions for tenancy and tenants; sources and mechanisms of enforcement; remedies, liability, and indemnity; chargebacks, liens, and removal; Human Rights considerations; mediation and arbitration; and compliance orders.  We’ll finish being more knowledgeable about the enforcement process, the legal process and how to deal with the situation reasonably!
